JDS Business Solutions was founded in 2006 for the sole reason of supporting small business needs.  We specialize in Intuit QuickBooks solutions from the most basic to the complex mid-size business.  We expertise in three main areas: bookkeeping, payroll and taxes.  In support of these areas we also provide project management, basic IT services, computer hardware support and human resource tools.  Our goal is to successfully facilitate the administrative aspects of a business so that the owner can focus on their customers.​

JDS Business was founded in 2006 in order to meet a growing need in the small business market.  The local small businesses were spending too much time on bookkeeping, payroll and even tax preparation.  Our mission statement and business plan was developed to alleviate that need.  We strive to take the small business owner’s focus off of administration and allow them to focus on their customers.

Our founders faced the same challenges that every small business faces at startup and as a result, we fully understand the anxiety, joy and sometimes terror of ‘going on your own.’  Provided below is a list of our services but it is important to understand, we are highly flexible and can perform many different projects centered around accounting.  Please send us an email or call to discuss any accounting based project –we would love to hear from you.

QuickBooks is our foundation software.  We have worked at the most basic and complex level of this software.  We can implement, setup, train and maintain any version of QuickBooks.  All of our staff is a Intuit Pro Advisor and can provide the highest level of service.

Bookkeeping goes along with QuickBooks it would be unreasonable for anyone to fully understand QuickBooks without understanding the underlying accounting.  This is important when you are reviewing a company file, setting up a new file or just performing maintenance.  We can provide bookkeeping functions from setup through full bookkeeping.  If you only need monthly maintenance or just a company review, we can perform those functions.  JDS Business will also provide full bookkeeping that includes accounts payable and receivable, monthly reconciliation and general ledger.  This is the most comprehensive level of bookkeeping.

Payroll is a service that is probably the most popular.  It seems that most small businesses don’t want to deal with all the reports and filings that are associated with payroll.  We offer a basic service where the checks are manually calculated and the small business issues them or we can provide full service check issue with reporting and filing.  It is really up to the customer.

Taxes are also an area that most small businesses want to outsource.  JDS Business can provide all levels from financial reports to preparation and filing.  Our staff utilizes IRS registered Enrolled Agents which have the same level of status with the IRS as a CPA or Tax Attorney.

Secondary Services (all of these services are utilized to support the main areas of QuickBooks, Bookkeeping, Payroll & Taxes).

Project Management can be utilized to install a new or upgrade an existing accounting system.  The basic process would entail expectation definition, research solutions, present information, decide on implementation, implement, train personnel, testing, system live and customer acceptance.  While this may sound complex or convoluted, it is really just a basic life cycle for a project.

Database Development has been a nice benefit of using QuickBooks.  It is possible to export data to a database program.  This was particularly useful for employee data.  One of the solutions utilized the employee data to build the foundation for a human resource gold mine.  There was years of data that was simply brought into Microsoft Access and then a custom database was build around that data.  It was an excellent solution for that customer.  We have also developed supplier, vendor, inventory and even a MSDS custom database.

Microsoft Excel can be time consuming if you are unaware of all the powerful features that this program contains.  We can build a custom spreadsheet for financial reporting, pivot tables, QuickBooks export or just about any application imaginable.  If you need help in this area let us know.

Basic IT services can be another area of challenge.  JDS Business can help design, install and setup a new server, configure file and print sharing or help with a backup program.  We also have expertise with troubleshooting and repair of desktop computers.

Technical Writing may look out of place here but it really isn’t.  As we develop training or work on projects it has always been important to develop procedures and user manuals for our customers.  Luckily, one of our founders has over ten years of experience as a technical writer and has helped us develop this service.  So if you need documentation, procedures and/or user manuals, we can help.
